Chawton's Healthy Week
ImageDuring the week of 10th November all the pupils and staff celebrated being a 'healthy school' by having a Healthy Week. The school moved away from the usual curriculum and focused on all the ways we are a healthy school. We took on a different 'healthy' focus for each day of the week.

Victorian School Day
ImageLast Friday (7th November) all of the children in Key Stage 2 travelled back in time to find out what it would have been like to attend school for a day in Victorian times.  The children and teachers came to school dressed in Victorian style costumes and experienced a variety of Victorian style lessons.

Blue Class Bakery

Making breadBlue Class spent a week learning about healthy eating, food safety and finally all about bread.  They even had a special visitor to help them bake bread rolls. 

The children in Year 3/4 began the week by learning about eating a balanced diet and considering which foods belong in each group of the Balance of Good Health wheel.

Year 5 and Year 6 at Calshot

ImageFrom Monday 31st March until Friday 4th April, Year 5 and Year 6 spent a week at Calshot. During the week the children took part in exciting and challenging activities, such as, climbing, skiing, abseiling, kayaking, orienteering, archery and sailing. Improving their teamwork skills and facing new activities also proved great fun because the children participated in challenges, such as raft building, initiative courses and create challenges.

Singing Stars at the Anvil Theatre
ImageChildren from Years 3 and 4 performed a wide range of songs in the 'Out of the Oasis' concert at the Anvil Theatre in Basingstoke on Sunday 30th March.  The concert was organised by Amery Hill School and involved children from Alton's primary schools, Amery Hill and Treloars.

Purple Class learn how to mummify their mummies!
ImagePurple class had great fun working in teams to prepare presentations about mummification. The children used their historical knowledge and their ICT skills. Then each group presented their PowerPoints to the rest of the school.
