ImageDuring the recent weeks, there have been an increasing number of cases of vandalism and theft within the village.

This matter has been discussed at length with Lucy Ryan, the village constable. We have been asked to ensure that every incident is reported to the police, either via the 0845 045 45 45 number or 101 as appropriate, alternately via e-mail (click on Lucy's name above)

If you see anything suspicious, please report this to the police – don’t rely on someone else doing it for you. The larger the volume of information, the more it homes in on those involved. It is important to give information such as the times that it could have occurred, days of the week, car registrations involved, etc.

The damage to date includes, but is not limited to

        • Theft from several properties in the area
        • Damage to property
        • Removal of plants from several displays around the village
        • Stripping of the village notice board on several occasions.
        • Damage to vehicles throughout the village ranging from damaged paintwork, wing mirrors and wiper blades
        • General damage to signage and infrastructure.
        • Drinking and camp-outs on the village recreational area into the small hours.
          - which typically leave alcohol outside the school.

Don’t forget that insurance companies work on post codes for risk levels, so this will affect all of us in our pockets if it continues.

The Parish Council is interested to know about your views relating to the establishing of a neighborhood watch scheme. Clearly this would need people to volunteer to be involved in such a scheme across the village. If you are interested, please let us know via the Parish Clerk, or come to a Parish Council meeting and have your say.

We meet monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 8pm in the Granary - dates are shown in the calendar.
