Love it or loathe it, the former Darcy House site's re-development is starting to take shape. The developer Banner Homes have provided some artists impressions and information of the forthcoming houses on the site being marketed as Pemberley Place, a name clearly designed to relate to the heritage of our village.
The village, which as many know, has changed so little in hundreds of years and now boasts many of the original, and now listed buildings which existed in her time. This includes one recently upgraded to the very special status of Grade 1 listing. The development, numbering 15 houses is the largest by number to take place in the village in many years and many local people have asked how we go about integrating so many new people into our community in one go without creating a micro-community or affecting the character and close-knit community our village enjoys. Nicki Dennis, Marketing Director for Banner homes provided an outline of their development plans and timescales.
"We are aiming to have the show home (plot 14) open in April/May of this year, with units being completed working from 14 along to 10 first, from May onwards and with the whole site anticipated for being complete by December 07."
Artists impressions of a number of the plots can be found in the picture gallery and a brochure is in the document library (being a large document, it takes a while to download). For those interested in contacting Banner Homes, their sales hotline is on 0870 1978 822. |
