We are sure that many of you will have seen that the Darcy House re-development work has started.
The current phase of works include
- A revised road layout at the entrance to the site
- An alteration to the corner by Alphonsus House.
- Some road markings on the corner outside Denmead.
These activities are a precursor to the main development works which will start once the road alterations are done. A number of people raised concerns about the works to the parish council - primarily about the removal of earth from the protected bank at the front of the site. The parish council has looked into the concerns and although we did not consider that the works had deviated from the plan, we have checked with EHDC's planning team as a precautionary matter. The alterations are on-plan and the increased width of the entrance is required for the new pavements into and out of the site. We would ask however, that people keep watching as the development progresses and as with previous works within the village, if anyone has any concerns, please let us know. We are also aware that Banner homes are trying to minimize the impact on the village, and we recognise their work to remove debris from the road and the provision of groundsmen to ensure the safety of traffic entering and leaving the site. Please note that we have requested via EHDC that they publish the current plans for the Darcy House re-development on their web site, so that interested parties can view the plans and confirm any queries without travelling to EHDC's offices in Petersfield or Alton. It is anticipated that the plans will be on-line here within the next week or so |
