Adding and event to the calendar

Print PDF

ImageThe village calendar lists all events that are being held locally in and around the area.

If you have an event that you would like to add to the calendar, you must first be a registered user

Once you have registered and logged in, you will be presented with an “Add Event” button on the calendar, use this to provide information on the event you would like added.

Be sure to enter

  • A title summarising the event
  • A brief description of the event and its location
  • A category (from the list)
  • The time and date it starts and finishes
  • Contact details - phone, e-mail, etc.
  • Any charges for the event (free entry, entry charge for individuals, families, etc).

Submissions without this information will be rejected.

You can also submit a picture to provide more information on the event, for example a poster or other such advertising.

Once an event has been added, it will be approved by one of a number of site managers after they have contacted you. This step is performed to prevent spurious entries from being listed and to preserve the accuracy of the calendar.

All events that are on in the village (and that we have been notified of) are listed in the calendar; this is available from a number of locations within the site. The top right hand side of the screen shows the “Whats New in the Calendar” section, this will list everything that has been recently added.

The “Forthcoming Events” panel shown under the main menu shows a mini calendar. Dates with events listed are shown in blue, today’s date is shown with a red box around it.

The full calendar can be accessed from the main menu under Whats On. This allows full manipulation including searching, displaying daily, weekly or monthly views.

Registered users can request an event to be included See “AddEvent” link for more information on how to do this. Click here to go to the calendar

Note that its free to register and have your events listed on this site as long as you are not a commercial organisaton, we will also provide event information from other local villages, but you can decide not to show these if you prefer.

Advertising with this site

Print PDF

If you advertise in the village magazine as a business, you get the option to advertise on this site as part of the overall cost, or just to advertise on the web site if your adverts aren't relevant to the village. The fees helps us to cover the costs of providing the site. It is not possible to advertise on this site without going via the village magazine.
