Temporary footpath closure

We have been advised that HCC are temporarily closing the footpath between Mounters Lane and the Sports Centre to allow for drainage work, firming up of the surface (scalpings) and widening of the narrow part of the footpath to take place.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – ALTON RESTRICTED BYWAY 506/ CHAWTON BOAT 502

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council has made an Order to allow for works in connection with drainage and surface upgrade to be undertaken, as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED:  Alton Restricted Byway 506/Chawton BOAT 502 for its entire length (between grid reference 470501 138063 and 470873 138002)

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:  None available

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From 25 February 2010 for a period of two months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner.  (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than fourteen days).

Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.
