Road Closure - Village Centre

Print PDF

ImageHampshire Highways have informed us that they are planning to do some road repairs in the village during the year, this will involve closing the main road through the village between the A32/A31 roundabout and Wolf's Lane.

Although the letter received states that they will close it "between the 15th January and the 19th January and again from the 20th January for one year, or until works are completed, whichever is the sooner (Believed to be 3 working days)", We understand that this is just the HCC way of saying that they will come some time in the spring to fill the holes and again during the summer for resurfacing works.

A copy of the notice from HCC can be found in the public notices section of the site.

HCC have stated that "Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises whilst the work is being carried out."

We have asked HCC for more specifc (ie correct) dates so that those who park on the road can make alternative arrangements for the day.

When we know more, we will update the web site accordingly.
