Parish Plan - initial meeting

Print PDF

On October the 20th a meeting is being held in Chawton Village Hall to discuss the Parish Plan.

So why should you be interested and why come along?

The parish plan is developed and driven by members of the parish, not the Parish Council, and is an important document which will guide the parish development.  It many ways it is a blue print for the future and covers things such as:

  • Building development
  • Recreation amenities
  • Parish life
  • Transport
  • Environment
  • Support for members of the community
  • Parking
  • Crime prevention
  • Social events
  • etc

If you don’t take part you won’t have a say in what happens.  Parishes that have taken this on have found that as well as developing a blueprint for the parish, the parish has become closer, more vibrant and a better community.

With some of the parish in the National park, and some not, agreeing a vision for the future has never been more important, especially when trying to protect the beautiful environment we all live in.

Members of the Parish Council and of East Hants District Council will be there to help kick this off, but remember this is everyone’s plan.  So please come along on the 21st and help shape the future for Chawton Parish.
