Love it or loathe it, the former Darcy House site's re-development is starting to take shape. The developer Banner Homes have provided some artists impressions and information of the forthcoming houses on the site being marketed as Pemberley Place, a name clearly designed to relate to the heritage of our village. |

Clement Court |
Sunday, 03 June 2007 |
Following consultation with EHDC relating to the name of the former Darcy House site (currently being marketed as Pemberley Place), the Parish Council agreed that other historical names of significance to the village should be celebrated and preserved in history, thus continuing the existing village traditions that gave us names such as Wolf's Lane and Alphonsus House.
The result is Clement Court - named to celebrate the life of Captain Clement RN who fought in the battle of Copenhagen and once lived at Alphonsus House, (pictured). This is particularly significant due to the proximity of Alphonsus House to the development. |
